2 Corinthians 4:4

2 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV)
 The god of this age
has blinded the minds of unbelievers,
so that they cannot see
the light of the gospel
that displays the glory of Christ,
who is the image of God.

When I read this, it spoke to my heart.  It shows that the prophets before us predicted the sin in this world.  Now and days people are so worried about their gods.  Their gods are sex, music, money, fame, greed, self image, artists, cell phones, coming up with the "Kardashian's", media, gossip, love, another person, the hustle, video games, comics, super heroes, revenge, lying, stealing, tattoos, piercings, killing, tv, and so much more.  But where is God?  People so focusing on other things but God.  I mean it sucks!  God sent his only son to die on the cross of our sins and we sit there watching tv instead of opening the bible or saying "Thank You Lord for the ability to watch tv."  Some people's excuse is I'm so busy I haven't had the time.  So that's your god.  Whatever is making you so busy is your god.  What has that god done for you besides make you tired and put our almighty God to the side?  Is that god worth damnation?  Is that god worth your soul going to hell?  God gave you the strength to do what you have to do, and you can't even take the time to say "Lord I thank you" and open His word?  How can it be so easy to put God aside?  He's our first love.  He's our Alpha and Omega.  He's our provider.  He's our strength.  He's the reason we're breathing.  He's the reason we can move.  He's the reason we're alive!  He's our rock.  He's our fortress.  He's our everything.  So what if our everything puts us to the side?  What if God said "F*@#$ them!".  Seriously!  What if you think about what you're doing to Him we're basically saying that to him.  What if He does what we do to him?  I'm pretty sure most of us, including myself, would be dead.  Would have the worse days of our life.  Everything that God has protected us from knowing and unknowing will come after us.  We can't fend of our lives because it's not ours to begin with.  So what if God put us to the side?  What if God put his angels first, put animals first, put plants first, and leave us last?  What if God treated us like we treated him?  If you're a parent, wouldn't you want your kids to spend time with you?  I mean they ask you for money, clothes, food, gifts, favors, rides, roof over their head, and they cannot take the time to say "Hey mom, I love you."  or "Hey dad thank you for everything" or even have a conversation.  What if your kids put you to the side?  Better yet, knowing kids now and days, how does it feel that your kids go hang out with their friends and forget about you?  How does it feel that they are embarrass by you, but hang out with their friend's "cool parents"? Even for people who aren't parents.  How would it feel that your best friend just forgot about you when they got a new boyfriend or girlfriend?  How would it feel that your best friend is hanging out with someone else all the time and put you to the side?  How would it feel that the person you're dating doesn't have time for you and puts you to the side because everything else seems more important?  How does it feel you bust your butt at your job and some else got the promotion you got because your boss hasn't simply took the time to notice you or the things that you do?  Hey, I'ma take it one step further...what if EVERYONE who is important to you puts YOU to the side and forgets about YOU?  Keep that in mind the next time you want to put God aside and put your worldly idols before him.

I know it didn't talk about the unbelievers and how worldly gods are blinding them and they are unable to see God.  But the truth is, they can't see God without someone else's light showing them that their is a God.  They can't see God without the supposed Christians, Catholics, even Jews showing that their is a God and their is a Jesus.  They bible clearly says "Let you light so shine before men"  If we do better, maybe we could get some of the unbelievers to believe.
